Thank you again to those who attended or contacted me about "Finding Calm in the Eye of the Storm" at the Fairview Mesaba Hospital Wellness luncheon. People, we are stressed out! Remember to laugh, minimize the 'outside stressors' and rewire the brain to minimize the 'inside stressors.' It's tempting to think negatively when life throws us a doozy, yet that negative thinking will create a negative spiral that prevents us from being clear and creative as we navigate the doozy. Sometimes the best thing to do is breathe and clear the mind and suddenly, solutions may appear.
Know that you are loved, feel the love inside of you expand, and begin to create with the wonderful expansiveness of gratitude and generosity. Here's one little science experiment you can do at home:
Blow up a balloon, then write down all your thoughts on the balloon. All of them, good, bad, and in between. When you've filled it up and there's no more room to write, tell yourself it's time to clear your head and POP that balloon! I enjoyed offering these tips and more and talking about some of the latest research related to stress, the brain, brain chemistry and even nutrition. If you'd like me to come to your organization, church or meeting give me a call!
